About

Nat Love

I'm of both African American and Eastern European Ashkenazi descent, a mixed-race heritage that gives me a unique lens into the themes running through my fiction: legacy, freedom, and the first contact between Europe and ‘Sub-Saharan Africa’. Research for the current novel took me to Ghana, where I interviewed local historians to make sure the history tracks.

Away from the page, I'm a proud father to two daughters, and I love nothing more than spending time with them and my wife, who's also my best friend.

What to expect on the page

I write stories that unfold from my characters' eyes, where history is felt and characters are too human to be heroes. My work moves across historical fiction, thriller, and fantasy, blending the three: real historical ground, the pressure of a thriller's forward motion, and the reach of fantasy where the story asks for it.

Expect dual-timeline structure, distant moments in conversation with each other across time. Expect real people, real emotion: characters who want things badly, fail often, and are felt before they're explained. And expect a setting that's been researched, making the world come alive.

Nat Love LLC is my self-publishing venture. No titles have been published yet, with the first currently underway.
