Historical fiction / fantasy, told across two timelines: the kingdom of Adanse and the Guinea coast during the 1481–82 Portuguese expedition to West Africa, two worlds converging at the edge of an encounter that will remake both.

About the Author

Hi, I'm Nat.

I'm of both African American and Eastern European Ashkenazi descent, a mixed-race heritage that gives me a unique lens into the themes running through my fiction: legacy, freedom, and the first contact between Europe and ‘Sub-Saharan Africa’. Research for the current novel took me to Ghana, where I interviewed local historians to make sure the history tracks.
